So I was doing the bobbing for apples, and it was disgusting. Kids backwashing to water, then the next kid comes in and dunks his face in that water, but isn't that how it's supposed to be?

Not so in a culture that doesn't want things to be "dirty". It ended up being put your face close to the water and i'll feed you the apple. Sort of......
